Cisco are looking to establish a clean list of the routers and switches that are in the networks of some of their customers,  in order to:

  • Ensure that logistic databases are up to date
  • Ensure that mission critical networking equipment  have service contracts
  • Provide base information for new Cisco service products and programs

What was the aap3 solution?

aap3’s solution was to:

  1. Create a team of engineers and project managers
  2. Train the engineers in the methods of network discovery
  3. Improve the process in order to target appropriate customers,  setup and get agreement for the engagements, perform the discoveries and create meaningful reports.
  4. Share knowledge with Cisco world wide teams
  5. Document lessons learned to improve the process.
