History

From strength to strength

aap3 was founded in 1998 (as Preferred International) by a team of technology service specialists with a vision founded on the principle of Core versus Context. The founders devised a specific managed IT service solution and were quickly working with large corporate clients such as Cisco and IBM. We listened to these clients and were able to develop offerings that resonated with them and that were attuned to the changing technologies and markets.

From the start, the company was focused and grew at exceptional speed so that by 2003 aap3 was ranked as Britain’s 29th fastest growing company in the Sunday Times Virgin Fast Track 100 listing. The company’s base of operations was the business incubator offices at Southampton University Science Park.

Driven by a Board of Directors, all successful, senior executives from across the breadth of UK and US industry including international recruitment companies, global IT corporations, global management consulting and technology companies, the Organization was in good shape. By 2007 the company had out-grown its’ first home in the incubator offices and moved to Delta House; a much larger premises on the Science Park.

In 2008 Rod Jackson was appointed as President and CEO of aap3. Previously non-executive Chairman of the Board, Jackson brought with him extensive knowledge of the IT industry. His many achievements included leading the globalization of Cisco IT, 7 years in the post of Vice President of Information Technology responsible for IT Shared Services at Cisco and the formation of Cisco’s first IT Global Client Services group.  In addition, immediately prior to joining Cisco, Jackson spent 17 years with Intel Corporation, his last role being Worldwide Operations Director for Intel Online Services, where he built & ran a global managed service & hosting business across multiple global data centers.

All About People, Process and Productivity

In parallel to Jackson’s appointment, the company was re-branded as aap3 to encompass all the business areas in which the company now delivered. aap3 is an acronym for ‘All About People’ with the “3” representing the three areas in which the company excels – People, Process and Productivity. The company’s mission, as stated in the logo, is ‘enabling business’ which we do by providing skilled people, that implement solutions to key process issues which result in improved productivity for our clients.

aap3 currently delivers globally across 26 countries with a multitude of diverse offerings from advanced IT Engineering, Business Intelligence, Managed Services and Software Development to Web Design, Marketing, Vendor Management and Recruitment. Each solution area is headed by an industry leading expert whose knowledge of the market has allowed aap3 to drive through the economic downturn and continue to grow despite difficult business conditions.

To accommodate aap3’s continued growth, the company headquarters moved into the prestigious, newly developed ‘Benham Campus’ offices at  the Science Park in October 2009.   The office provides extensive room for future growth and also an address to complement the company’s growing reputation in the industry.
