Client: University of the Arts, London & Cisco

This is a great accomplishment and kudos for working on short notice and time frames!!! I only wish I could have witnessed the installation in person. Our appreciation to all of you for how well everyone collaborated. We're now able to "push the envelope" a bit further with TP.

The Problem:

University of the Arts together with Cisco are interested in understanding social Telepresence, in particular, what happens if Telepresence is used in a different way to the standard corporate communication.

To that end, the University set up a number of social experiments which required the installation and setting up of two Telepresence 1000 systems at the University’s premises.

The aap3 Solution:

aap3’s solution was to:

1) Establish what the University were trying to do, while
understanding the Cisco’s position, thereby outlining an
engineering design and approach.
2) Survey the University’s site and question the technical
teams in order to fine tune the design.
3) Help order, stage and ship the equipment to site.
4) Install and configure the equipment on site
5) Explain to the university tech teams how the equipment
should be operated

The Business Benefits:

The business benefits to the client were:
1) Providing a cost effective and timely installation
2) Allowing the students were able to participate in and
continue their experiments as part of their studies and
timetable.
3) Enabling the University and Cisco to look at the next
stage which is to link up to three other universities
together using the same technology.
