When aap³ met their customers and partners head on!
To say that a few boyhood dreams were realised on a blistering hot day at St Mary’s was an understatement. The long awaited match between the lucky aap3 employees selected for the team against a very determined group of aap3 customers and invited guests showed every sign of being an event to remember and none were disappointed.
The Pitch event held at St Mary’s, home of the newly promoted Southampton FC, took a lot to organise and we were determined the event benefitted all those who had been instrumental in aap3’s successful sponsorship year of the Saints. It was particularly focused towards our employees and customers and, as you can imagine, we had no problem in securing volunteers to play in the match. Whilst everything was organised with utmost precision – the one thing that we could not organise – the weather – did not disappoint. It was the hottest day of the year and families and friends watched the match from the stands whilst ensuring they were kept cool by a plentiful supply of cold water. Our two mascots Super and Sami (Alias Mykala and Harry) were undoubtedly some of the heroes of the match – not least as they donned very hot, furry outfits in blistering conditions whilst entertaining the children and their parents alike.
A total of 8 goals were scored – with the aap3 side winning 6 -2 on the day – and some fantastic goals were captured by those watching. As well as a great football match, through fundraising efforts on the door, fun activities, a raffle & employee donations we raised enough money to sponsor one of the Saints Foundation Dream Days. Thanks all for the kind donations…! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uLqYZ0YrJeI. An opportunity was also given to 2 Ultimate Saints Fans – Simon Law and David Walker and one closeted football player, Daily Echo reporter Simon Walter who made great contribution’s to their teams efforts.
A big thank you goes to all involved – Saints Football Club, Saints Foundation, Halo Catering, our employees, our valued customers and invited guests and the 3 FA referees who certainly demonstrated professionalism and patience. Whilst we do not want to single out anyone in particular a big thank you must go to Claire Grattidge, from our Corporate Office who, in her usual manner, arranged and managed an excellent event with immaculate precision and which was enjoyed by all.
